Planned · in development
Medicines designed with AI, followed from discovery to the clinic.
A planned section for the curious and the professionally interested. It will follow drugs whose discovery or development used AI: which ones reached people, what their trials found, and where they stand in each market. The same rules as the rest of Cylon: counted, sourced, never scored.
What it will cover
- Drug discoverymolecules and targets found with AI
- Repurposingexisting drugs matched to new uses
- Clinical developmentAI in trial design and patient selection
Where things stand
More than 100 drug programmes that used AI in discovery or design are in clinical trials, by 2026 counts. Trackers disagree on what counts as AI-discovered, which is part of why this needs a careful, sourced map.
Reported by IntuitionLabs, AI-discovered drugs in clinical trials, 2026As of July 2026, no drug fully designed by AI had FDA approval. The most advanced, rentosertib for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, entered a Phase III trial that month.

How it will work
Each drug gets the same two views every Cylon intervention has: what the studies show, on the evidence ladder, and how far along it is in each market. Whether AI was involved, and how, is recorded as a sourced fact about the drug, never as a reason to rate it higher.
